Built in 1839, Thian Hock Keng Temple is one of the oldest and most important Hokkien temples in Singapore. Located in Telok Ayer, it is dedicated to Mazu, the Taoist goddess of the sea, who was worshipped by Chinese immigrants for safe passage at sea.
