Huangyong Jade Emperor Temple

Situated along Xiatangjiao Road in the ancient Lingnan water town of Huangyong, the Jade Emperor Temple serves as a living center of community faith. The surrounding village traces its origins to the Northern Song Dynasty, established between 1086 and 1094, and has maintained its cultural continuity through centuries of change. The temple's own construction date blends into the deep history of the settlement. The building remains an active site of worship where residents gather to observe traditional religious customs. One of the most significant rituals held here is the ceremonial changing of the deities' garments, a practice that connects modern villagers to the spiritual rhythms of their ancestors.
