Twin Pagodas, Chongxing Monastery(West)
Beizhen, Liaoning, China
The West Pagoda stands 42.63 meters tall. Only the Buddha on the south face wears a jeweled crown, while the others have spiral hair buns, with varying hand gestures. The attendants are depicted standing on the wall surface, without niches. Embedded in the middle section of the West Pagoda is a small stone tablet inscribed with the "Record of the Renovation of the Pagodas of Chongxing Monastery" from the 28th year of the Ming Wanli era (1600). The inscriptions have become blurred over time.
