- The construction of twin pagodas within a monastery is a very traditional temple-building practice. However, there are only three locations in China where twin pagodas and a monastery coexist: Yongzuo Monastery in Taiyuan, Shanxi, and Kaiyuan Monastery in Quanzhou, Fujian, in addition to this site.
