This granary, believed to have been built in the 1800s, originally featured partitions between each pillar, dividing the interior into five rooms: three small ones and two large ones. Today, only three rooms remain. Grain was stored and accessed by removing wooden boards called “otoshi-ita” on the front side, which were reinserted starting from the bottom and secured with a top bar when closing. The large rooms held rice, wheat, millet, Japanese millet, and beans, with a storage capacity of up to 30 bales, while the three smaller rooms were used for miscellaneous grains, which were kept loose without being bagged.
