October 14, 2025, morning. Sunny, hazy. The Catholic church stood alone on a vast open space, dignified and imposing, its scale and intricate decorations no different from a standard cathedral in a Western European city. The gilded statue of Jesus atop the front roof was striking. Clearly, this building had received considerable attention from either the government or a social organization. Yet, in contrast to the majestic facade, its roof was nothing more than rusted blue sheet metal, hastily assembled with little investment of resources. During modeling, the church was under renovation—workers were on the roof while a large crane stood nearby.
