The Longaberger Basket Building, located in Newark, Ohio, is a striking example of novelty architecture. Completed in 1997, this seven-story structure served as the headquarters for The Longaberger Company, a renowned manufacturer of handcrafted maple wood baskets. Designed to replicate the company's signature Medium Market Basket, the building spans 180,000 square feet and features two 150-ton handles equipped with heating elements to prevent ice accumulation—a testament to the company's commitment to its brand identity.

The interior boasts a 30,000-square-foot atrium topped with a glass ceiling, allowing natural light to illuminate the space. Subtle design elements throughout the building, such as basket-weave wall treatments and undulating cabinets, further echo the basket motif.

Following the company's closure in 2018, the building has remained largely vacant. Although there were plans to convert it into a luxury hotel, these have not materialized, and as of January 2021, the building was listed for sale at $6.5 million.

Despite its uncertain future, the Longaberger Basket Building remains a notable landmark, symbolizing the company's legacy and the unique architectural vision of its founder, Dave Longaberger.
