October 26, 2025, morning, overcast. This cliff inscription is located within Tieshan Park, bustling with tourists, especially many children. The carved characters are not deeply engraved into the rock as I imagined, but rather shallowly etched onto the stone's surface like knife marks. Due to weathering and erosion, most of the characters are now illegible or have entirely vanished, while the surviving ones remain indistinct. Evidently, carving words into stone is not an effective way to preserve civilization. Modeled sections include the inscription railing and its surrounding small platform and hillside rock formations.
