On the slopes of Jiugao Mountain in Chi'an Town, a grand stone archway of gray-white granite marks the entrance to the Geng Family Garden. Rising 9.8 meters high and stretching 13.6 meters wide, this classical structure stands as a physical anchor for millions of Hualin Hu descendants worldwide. At its base, two blue stone lions keep watch, their cool, polished surfaces worn by the touch of visiting pilgrims. Above them, the central plaque bears the four characters of the garden's name, brushed by Li Zhao, the wife of former CPC General Secretary Hu Yaobang, in April 2005.

This eight-hectare sanctuary honors Lady Geng, who lived from 874 to 952 AD. As the wife of Hu Cheng, the first-generation ancestor of the Hualin Hu clan, she shaped the family's moral traditions. Her resting place became a sacred destination. In November 2004, family members pooled three million RMB to expand the tomb into this memorial park. Visitors walk a path lined with stone statues of humans and horses, leading to rough, hand-carved characters on the dragon-inducing stele beside the still waters of a half-moon pond. The air carries the sweet scent of osmanthus and magnolia trees.

Today, the site is part of the Hualin Mountain Scenic Area, where a forest of stone steles preserves centuries of family poetry and calligraphy, carved permanently into the rock.
