Rossotti's Alpine Inn is a famous biker bar in Portola Valley, California, with a history of over 150 years. It was once the object of protest by Stanford University's president and also the favorite tavern for students. Even today, it remains a place where local cyclists come to have lunch. On August 27th 1976 ,a group arrived at Alpine Inn in a specially equipped van; they were SRI International scientists."They ran a cable from the van’s radio to a computer set up at a picnic table out back and used the radio to connect to another computer at the SRI office and on to Boston.
