The Banshan Pavilion, serving historically as the library, rises with the elegance of a traditional retreat, yet it was built to house the "new learning" of mathematics and science alongside the Confucian canon. Walking the grounds, visitors encounter the Zuo Gong Shrine, dedicated to the Ming dynasty loyalist Zuo Guangdou. Wu Rulun’s handwritten motto, "Mian Cheng Guo Qi"—"Strive to Become a Vessel for the Nation"—remains the site's gravitational center.
