Chinese Temple Gallery

Gallery 230 at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art brings together two major works of Chinese Buddhist art: the Yuan-dynasty mural The Assembly of Tejaprabha, originally installed at Lower Guangsheng Monastery in Shanxi, and the monumental painted-wood Guanyin of the Southern Sea. Their museum setting creates a rare encounter across architecture, mural painting, and devotional sculpture.
