Yinlang Ranch Abandoned Villa
Daqing, Heilongjiang, China
This is a product of Daqing's economic bubble period in the early 2010s. Urban planners at the time believed that Yinlang Ranch should be developed into a tourist and vacation center, leading to substantial investment. One of the two buildings is a hot spring wellness facility, featuring simple white walls and Chinese-style imitation eaves, with a swimming pool and hotel rooms inside. The other is more abstract—a completely imitated ancient Chinese siheyuan (courtyard house), arranged in a bizarre layout, likely originally intended as luxury guest rooms. From a distance, it resembles an ancient structure that has fallen into disrepair, like a Shanshan Guildhall or the former residence of a notable figure. Both were abandoned by the late 2010s.
