Qingdao Meteorological Station
Qingdao, Shandong, China
In July 1959, the Qingdao meteorological department relocated from its historic Guanxiang Station (refer to Model of Qingdao Observatory Office Building) on Guanxiang Mountain to its current site on Fulong Mountain, establishing the modern Qingdao Meteorological Station. As a successor to one of the "Three Great Observatories of the Far East," this WMO Centennial Observing Station blends over a century of historical data with advanced technology. Today, it serves as a critical hub for high-precision marine and urban forecasting, continuing Qingdao's legacy as a pioneer in China’s meteorological sciences.
