Maxlove Bakery Factory
Daqing, Heilongjiang, China
In 1988, while the "Oil City" of Daqing focused on its underground riches, a small workshop called the Kangle Bakery began to rise. This modest kitchen transformed in 1996 into Maxlove Bakery. It is a regional power that commands three-quarters of the local mooncake market.
Walking through the 13,600-square-meter central factory, one sees the scale of this evolution. Completed in 2015, this facility uses high-grade purification systems to produce a massive range of goods, from traditional Tangyuan and Zongzi to delicate Western pastries. The air here carries the heavy, sweet scent of Egg Mooncakes and Longjuan Crisps. These products are the result of collaboration between local bakers and technical advisors brought in from France and Taiwan. These specialists left their mark on the recipes, blending international techniques with Chinese holiday traditions.
The reach of the brand is visible across the landscape. Forty direct retail stores and twenty franchise locations serve as neighborhood anchors in Daqing. A broader network of 600 supermarket partners and a modern e-commerce system carries these flavors to Harbin and Beijing. While the city’s identity often rests on steel and oil, the persistence of the bakery suggests a different story. It is a narrative of grain, sugar, and the steady growth of a brand that started with a single oven in Daqing City, it has now expanded nationwide.
