Composed of NBA-grade wooden panels that interlock like a massive puzzle, the surface allows the arena to shed one identity and assume another within hours. This adaptability defines the structure, an 8,500-seat venue located on Tianshahe Avenue that serves as the operational heart of the sprawling Jiangmen Sports Center. While the surrounding complex covers nearly 390,000 square meters, the indoor hall concentrates the energy of the site, functioning as a machine for performance.

The architecture reflects a pragmatic ambition. Commissioned to secure the 15th Guangdong Provincial Games, the project pioneered the "Design-Build-Operate" model in China. This strategy, executed by Poly Developments and the South China University of Technology, aimed to prevent the venue from becoming a hollow shell once the opening ceremonies concluded. Consequently, the building remains in constant motion. It hosted the World Volleyball League just months after its 2018 opening, testing its vertical clearance and acoustics against international standards. Today, it stands as a certified training base for the China Volleyball Association and prepares to frame the precision of artistic swimming and youth volleyball for the upcoming National Games.

Yet, the building’s resonance extends beyond elite competition. Outside the glare of television cameras or concert spotlights for touring pop stars, the facility integrates into the rhythm of the Pengjiang District. The outdoor courts fill with basketball players taking advantage of free morning hours, and the training halls echo with the sounds of amateur badminton. The stadium balances the exclusivity of professional sports with the open access of a public park, grounding its steel-and-glass grandeur in the routine of the local community.
