A seven-story arc of concrete and glass bends to mimic the shoreline of Nanhu Lake, acting as a modern mirror to centuries of Yunnan history. Located at No. 8 Nanhu South Road, the Honghe Guanfang Hotel stands as a monument to both environmental design and local heritage. Just steps from the property, wartime scholars from the National Southwestern Associated University once walked these banks, seeking intellectual refuge. Today, that legacy of human dedication lives on through people like Luo Jiangfei, a celebrated hotel artisan recognized as a regional master craftsman.

Built in 2005 by the Yunnan Guanfang Group and renovated in 2017, the structure covers 40,000 square meters, dedicating half of its footprint to 20,000 square meters of lush gardens and ancient trees. The architecture uses water as its central theme, wrapping its 251 rooms around the lake to capture the cool mist rising from the water.

Inside, the sensory experience connects directly to the local soil. Guests gather at the first-floor dining hall to taste authentic Crossing the Bridge Rice Noodles, where the rich, steaming chicken broth and fresh local mushrooms offer a taste of Mengzi's culinary heritage. In the evening, the soft glow of the lakeside sunset filters through panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, while staff deliver warm milk and cookies to the rooms.
