On September 28, 2024, the state-owned Gejiu Xinhua Bookstore opened its newly renovated Xidu Book City for trial operations. Located at 60 Renmin Road, at the intersection with Xinguan Road, this primary retail outlet occupies the second and third floors of the Xinhua Bookstore Comprehensive Building. The relocation from its former home at 73-1 Zhongshan Road became official on November 12, 2024, marking a new chapter for an institution operated under the Red River State Xinhua Bookstore Co., Ltd. Gejiu Branch. Inside, the space holds more than 40,000 volumes spanning social sciences, humanities, and children's literature.
